Maintenance Planner
Description
The Maintenance Planner is usually responsible for developing the job plans that will define the methods used to repair and maintain the physical assets. As a Maintenance Planner, your additional responsibility is to coordinate with the operations and maintenance team to develop the most efficient plan possible for executing these maintenance tasks.
Challenge
A key challenge facing many Maintenance Planners is the organization’s ability to communicate clearly across all levels. As a Maintenance Planner, you need to understand the results of the maintenance tasks that have been performed in the past. The Maintenance Planner also finds himself in a time crunch and is often not given the time needed to properly prepare job plans and maintenance schedules, with the organization itself pulling him in multiple directions.
